In Yoga the union of Shiva-Shakti is seen as the union of Consciousness and energy. One cannot exist without another. It is a non-duality form and they are mirror images of each other, together they become an indestructible force.

Yoga means unification, which is first the unity of all the dualities and contraries that constitute the energies of life. Yoga philosophy teaches us to understand and transcend duality, but this rests upon harmonizing the dualities within us in a transformative state of balance.

Shiva yoga is also known as Divine yoga, as this yoga relates with three most powerful trikona 5th and 9th house along with the potent Kendra house which is the 10th house. Shiva the omnipresent is prayed to destroy the negativity in our life and to bestow with success and strength.

Together, Shiva and Shakti represent the union of opposites, or the merging of consciousness and energy. In union, Shiva and Shakti form the composite deity known as Ardhanarishvara, the half-woman lord.
